Ghost Racing App lets a solo runner race a replay of an earlier run on Meta Ray-Ban Display glasses. A small ghost in the corner of the display moves ahead or falls back as the runner follows the same route.
Solo runners can lose the immediate challenge that makes a race engaging. They may want to beat a previous time, but a pace number demands interpretation while they are moving. A runner who wants the push of another person may also want to start whenever they like and hold a pace that suits them. In a 2026 discussion about running alone, one runner described postponing sessions more often after losing regular partners. Another said shared runs were motivating but coordinating them constrained when and how they could run.
Today, some runners check pace repeatedly, compare splits after finishing, or arrange to meet someone for a paced session. Each action gives only part of the experience: comparison arrives late, repeated glances interrupt the run, and a partner’s schedule or speed may not fit. Others who would enjoy a challenge simply run alone without one. They need an immediate, personally relevant sense of progress that travels with them on their own route.
7/10: Running alone can make it harder to start a session and push through it. Runners describe wanting a challenge that fits their own schedule and pace. Without one, some postpone runs or finish without a satisfying sense of progress.
Ghost Racing App saves each run as an opponent the runner can race next time on Meta Ray-Ban Display glasses. A small ghost stays in the corner of their view, giving a clear live race without asking them to look down.
